Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.

Saturdays Oct 17, 24 and Nov 7: 10:00 am - 11:00 am/12:00 pm

This pretty scarf is a great project for near beginners and anyone who wants to learn how to create texture in their knitting. If you can knit and you can purl, this is the class for you! You learn an easy cast-on and a stretchy bind-off, a basic lace stitch, a slipped stitch pattern, and how to increase.

This workshop takes place over three Saturdays: two hours for weeks I and II, and one hour for week III.

There is homework!

The pattern is called "May I Borrow This Please". It is available free on Ravelry. Printed copies will be distributed at the first session.

Supplies Required:

  • 275 m of DK weight (#3) yarn. The store sample is knit with Elsebeth Lavold's Silky Wool. Be sure your yarn is wound before the first session.
  • 5.00 or 5.50mm x 60cm circular needle (Use the larger size if you knit tightly.)
  • darning needle
  • The pattern is May I Borrow This Please, available for free on Ravelry

Prerequisites:
Students must know how to knit and purl, but may be near-beginners.

Maximum 8 participants.
