Needle Arts Fair is Sat 5 October!

Shop the Purlin' J's yarntruck this Saturday from 10am - 3pm at the Needle Arts Fair! This annual event is hosted by the Cataraqui Guild of Needle Arts and takes place at the Senior's Centre, 56 Francis Street, Kingston, Ontario.The yarntruck will be parked in the north parking lot. Admission to the Fair is $6. Lunch available! Plus demonstrations, auction, door prizes, and free mini-workshops! (See schedule below.) Vendors from Ontario and Quebec, including the yarntruck! Almonte FibreFest

The Almonte FibreFest takes place 7 & 8 September in two locations: the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, and the Almonte Community Centre. Visitors will find demonstrations, vendors, and exhibits. Local guilds will demonstrate spinning, knitting, weaving, rug hooking, lace making, smocking and quilting. Vendors include spinners, weavers, and fibre artists from across the province, as well as quilt shops, alpaca farms, and the Purlin' J's yarntruck! North Market Cafe (78 Mill Street, Almonte) will provide a tea room onsite, featuring homemade goodies, beverages and sandwiches. Admission: $6/day that includes access to all sites. Fibrefest 2019 hours: Saturday 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday 10 am to 4 pm

New Purlin' J's Shop within a Shop

Customers and fans of Purlin' J's yarntruck can now shop for yarn anytime inside Kingston's Stitch By Stitch quilt store Kingston's mobile yarntruck, Purlin' J's Roving Yarn Co. now has a "shop within a shop" inside the long-established quilt shop, Stitch By Stitch, at 550 Days Road (at Golden Mile). The bright red yarntruck has been on the road since 2013. Purlin' J's Roving Yarn Co. was named one of the "Top Ten Most Remarkable Small Businesses in Canada" by The Globe and Mail's Report on Small Business in 2014. Now Purlin' J's occupies a small piece of brick-and-mortar, as well as the yarntruck, so that yarncrafters may shop for premium yarn whenever Stitch By Stitch is open. Like the...
