Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.
- how to cast-on, knit and purl
- why you need stitch markers and how to use them
- garter stitch, stockinette stitch and ribbing
- shaping by using increase and decrease stitches
- yarn weight and how to choose the correct yarn and needles for your project
- how to read a pattern
- two 200m of worsted weight yarn
- 5 mm circular needle (40 cm length)
- tapestry needle
- removable faux fur pompom for the hat
- pattern is provided
Maximum 8 participants.
Prerequisites:
This class is suitable for absolute beginners.
About the Instructor:
Carol Gee has been a passionate knitter for 40 years and has been teaching others to knit for 39. She started teaching her friends how to make Icelandic knit sweaters in the 1980s, managed a Lewiscraft store for a couple of years, worked at a yarn shop in Perth for several years, and has test knit for a yarn company and a few designers . She enjoys working with people, especially when she can share her love of knitting and fibre. She has lived in Kingston for three years, and is looking forward to meeting everyone!
