Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.

Saturdays, 20 and 27 September: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm

Join Carol and learn how to use double pointed needles (DPNs) to make a practical gift for you or a loved one! These fingerless mitts are perfect for fall weather. 

You will learn how to manipulate DPNs, make a thumb gusset, and add the thumb to the mitt.  

Supplies Required: 
  • 50g of fingering wt yarn (store sample was knit with one skein of Koigu KPPPM)
  • 2.75mm double pointed needles
  • Stitch markers
  • Free pattern:  Bristlecone Fingerless Mitts (on Ravelry)

Maximum 8 participants.

Prerequisites: Class participants MUST be able to knit and purl. The class is suitable for near beginners.

About the Instructor:

Carol Gee has been a passionate knitter for 40 years and has been teaching others to knit for 39. She started teaching her friends how to make Icelandic knit sweaters in the 1980s, managed a Lewiscraft store for a couple of years, worked at a yarn shop in Perth for several years, and has test knit for a yarn company and a few designers . She enjoys working with people, especially when she can share her love of knitting and fibre. She has lived in Kingston for three years, and is looking forward to meeting everyone!
