Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.
You will learn back loop single crochet, front loop double crochet, starting double and single crochet, envelope border, how to read an overlay mosaic crochet chart, and how to block your work.
The first two-hour class has you set up and learn the mosaic technique and ask any questions. Homework is to complete the first coaster or runner if possible. The second one-hour class we'll discuss how to do an envelope border to encase the ends or if you want to keep it natural, learn how to brush it out or leave it as is, as well as blocking.

Worsted-weight or DK cotton yarn in the following colours for the Christmas tree coasters: White, pale blue and pale green. Amounts of yarn depend on if you are doing a runner or coasters. Sample is crocheted in Rico DK.
- 4.00 mm crochet hook or hook required to meet gauge
- Stitch markers suitable for crochet

Maximum 8 participants.
Prerequisites: This class is suitable for adventurous beginners and intermediate crocheters. Students must have crocheted previously, and know how to make a slip knot, chain, and single crochet.
About Maria:
I am a 28-year-old administrator in an audiologist office. I crochet, sometimes knit, bake and cook, sew, quilt, cross stitch, and make pottery in my wheel. I just started spinning after finding an antique spinning wheel and loving the journey. I love sharing my passions and hobbies and I love my dog shally; she is a dachshund and jack russell mix and keeps us on our toes.
