Picton FibreFest May 26

The Purlin' J's yarntruck is back for its sixth season, and we're kicking things off with a visit to the Prince Edward County 2nd Annual FibreFest on Saturday, May 26, 9 - 4:30. Find the yarntruck in the outdoor market section of vendors. Onboard you'll find some new yarns from Koigu, Lichen and Lace, and Fibrelya! Plus custom-engraved Kollage brand square knitting needles.  Admission to the PEC FibreFest is $5 and children 12 and under are free.

Picton August 3

Shop the yarntruck on Thursday August 3 in Picton, Ontario, at the 34th Annual Prince Edward District Women's Institute Art & Craft Sale! New onboard the yarntruck you'll find Purlin' J's exclusive hand-dyed sock yarn from Kingston's own indie-dyer, Happy Cat. Inspired by Purlin' J's colours, it's appropriately named "Lil Dorothy". Only a hand-ful of skeins are available!  Plus locally-made and ready-to-dye sock blanks, sock boxes from Fibreyla, and new stock from Lichen & Lace!   While at the Women's Institute Art and Craft Sale shop from over 200 vendors who will be selling everything from crafts, stained glass, paintings, clothing, hats, wood products, and outdoor furniture, to wind chimes, pottery, jewellery, soap, toys and more! There will be lots to eat...

PEC FibreFest 27 May

Tomorrow, Saturday May 27th, is the first ever Prince Edward County FibreFest, and the yarntruck will be there! Shop from dozens of diverse vendors carrying fibre, felted garments, hand-dyed wool, fleece, yarns and so much more! You can take a class in felting, spinning, knitting, and button-making! And you can visit with fuzzy fibre friends including alpacas, sheep and rabbits! Plus sheep-shearing demonstrations and food trucks. $5 admission. Children 12 & under free. Day of the Pig, May 21

The yarntruck is open this Sunday May 21 in Sharbot Lake! It's the annual Day of the Pig food and drink festival, brought to you by Seed to Sausage. Previous iterations were held at their Tichborne location but due to consistently increased attendance, they're switching things up for this year's event. First of all, it's at Sharbot Lake beach (1021 Medical Centre Road) and also there's an admission charge for adults. But your favourite chefs, wineries and craft breweries from Ottawa and Eastern Ontario are back, plus there's lots more entertainment and stuff for the kids! Onboard the yarntruck Sunday you'll find delectable yarn cakes, plus some new hand-dyed fibre braids and locks. Always your favourites: Zen Yarn Garden, Koigu, Topsy...

Milford, PEC, then Cheerfully Made, Almonte

It's a busy weekend for Lil Dorothy, Purlin' J's yarntruck. On Saturday November 5 she's in Prince Edward County at the Jackson's Falls Inn in Milford (1768 County Rd. #17) from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Then, on Sunday, November 6, plan to attend the Cheerfully Made Holiday Market (formerly Handmade Harvest Craft Show) from 10am to 4pm at the Almonte Old Town Hall (15 Bridge Street.) The show happens on Saturday as well, but the yarntruck appears on Sunday only. Admission is $2, kids under 16 are free. Parking is free. Free Swag Bags filled with goodies go to the first 50 shoppers in line each day!
