This three-session class takes place over three autumn Saturdays. Students make a cozy toque; the sample is a slouchy style with a faux fur pompom, but a tighter fitting beanie is also an option. In session 1, you learn the knit and purl stitches (2 hours). In session 2, you will get comfortable with knitting in the round. Techniques covered: casting-on, ribbing, stockinette stitch (3 hours). She started teaching her friends how to make Icelandic knit sweaters in the 1980s, managed a Lewiscraft store for a couple of years, worked at a yarn shop in Perth for several years, and has test knit for a yarn company and a few designers . She enjoys working with people, especially when she can share her love of knitting and fibre.
