Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.
Saturday 30 September: 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Maximum 8 participants.
This class is suitable for adventurous beginners or those who have avoided cables because they look difficult. You will be amazed at how easy cable knitting can be! You will learn two different cable stitches and how to read a cable chart.
Prerequisites:
Students must be comfortable with the knit and purl stitches and knitting in the round. Before the session, please complete the "Brim" section of the hat, so you'll be ready to start cabling!
Supplies:
- 100g worsted-weight yarn. Suggested: Berroco Vintage
- 4.5mm or 5mm circular needle - 40 cm length;
- double pointed needles (DPN's) in the same size;
- cable needle;

About the Instructor:
Carol Gee has been a passionate knitter for 40 years and has been teaching others to knit for 39. She started teaching her friends how to make Icelandic knit sweaters in the 1980s, managed a Lewiscraft store for a couple of years, worked at a yarn shop in Perth for several years, and has test knit for a yarn company and a few designers . She enjoys working with people, especially when she can share her love of knitting and fibre. She has been living in Kingston for three years, and is looking forward to meeting everyone!
